About The Position

The Workers' Compensation Claims Manager plays a critical role in supporting injured workers as they navigate the process of obtaining Workers' Compensation benefits. This role manages a caseload through every stage, from medical treatment through litigation and final settlement, collaborating closely with clients, attorneys, and insurance adjusters to secure the best possible outcome for each case.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with employees at all levels
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the handling of a caseload of Workers' Compensation claims, ensuring that all cases progress smoothly and efficiently
  • Maintain open lines of communication with clients and insurance adjusters to ensure all workers' compensation benefits are timely administered
  • Review all determination letters to decide whether to initiate court action
  • Determine, based on current medical status, whether additional benefits should be sought, including scope expansion, surgical recommendations, and other medical care
  • Offer compassionate and empathetic support to clients throughout the entire claims process
  • Collaborate with clients to gather additional medical evidence and information that may strengthen their case
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and legal experts to develop effective case strategies for hearings
  • Prepare clients for evaluations, including permanent partial disability and functional capacity evaluations
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all client interactions, adjuster interactions, hearings, and case developments
  • Review medical reporting, including permanent partial disability evaluations, to determine the necessity of seeking additional rating evaluations consistent with statutory law
  • Review all requests for reimbursement to ensure statutory compliance and timely submission
  • Audit responses to formal requests to ensure compliance, including determining whether court intervention is necessary
  • Calculate average monthly wage, temporary total disability entitlement, and permanent partial disability awards
  • Follow ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines in all interactions and case management
