About The Position

The Law Collective is a Los Angeles-based personal injury law firm founded by two brothers, with offices throughout California and Nevada. The firm represents accident victims on a contingency fee basis across practice areas including car accidents, Uber/Lyft accidents, workers' compensation, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury, with a track record of multimillion-dollar settlements and verdicts. The Law Collective's teams are bilingual (Spanish/English) to serve clients across its markets. The Workers' Compensation Case Manager is responsible for managing the administrative and procedural workflow of workers' compensation cases from filing through resolution. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring strong attention to detail, familiarity with California workers' compensation procedures, and the ability to manage deadlines and filings across a caseload of active claims.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a case manager, legal assistant, or paralegal in workers' compensation (required)
  • Familiarity with California workers' compensation procedures and filings (Application for Adjudication of Claim, DWC forms, Labor Code Section 5710 fees)
  • Experience with EAMS or similar electronic filing systems
  • Strong calendaring and deadline-tracking skills
  • Ability to manage a full caseload with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience using a legal case management system/CRM
  • Full-time availability, on-site
  • Bilingual Spanish/English (must have)

Responsibilities

  • Open and file the Application for Adjudication of Claim for new cases
  • Prepare and process Labor Code Section 5710 fee petitions (attorney's fees for depositions)
  • Calendar and track all case deadlines, hearing dates, and statutory timeframes
  • Prepare and file documents with the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) via EAMS (Electronic Adjudication Management System)
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel regarding case status
  • Request and subpoena medical records, billing records, and other case documentation
  • Coordinate scheduling for depositions, hearings, and medical evaluations (QME/AME appointments)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files in the firm's case management system
  • Support attorneys with case preparation as needed
  • Familiarity with the process of obtaining Total Disability payments (TD, SDI, SSDI benefits)
