About The Position

Join our leading law firm as a Workers' Compensation Associate (Insurance Defense), where you'll actively represent clients in courtroom hearings and argue cases before the New York State Workers' Compensation Board. We're looking for proactive problem solvers who are comfortable in a courtroom setting, have the ability to think on their feet, and possess strong communication and organizational abilities. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice in New York and in good standing with the state bar
  • 2-8 years of experience handling workers' compensation claims and/or insurance defense matters
  • Familiarity with NYS Workers' Compensation Law and regulations
  • Experience with appearances at WCB hearings
  • Experience conducting medical depositions
  • Experience drafting Workers' Compensation appeals
  • Experience with drafting Section 32 Agreements, third-party liens, and Medicare compliance
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload independently, while meeting deadlines and court requirements
  • Excellent communication skills for maintaining ongoing client relationships and providing strategic legal advice
  • A professional demeanor, ethical judgment, and a strong commitment to client service and results-driven representation
