About The Position

The Workday Security Specialist safeguards sensitive organizational and employee information within the Workday platform by establishing robust security configurations and protocols. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security configurations, managing user roles and permissions, monitoring system activity, conducting audits, troubleshooting security issues, advising on best practices, and collaborating with other teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and experience with Workday security frameworks.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday Security
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills for security incidents and configuration issues.
  • Ability to translate technical security requirements into clear guidance for stakeholders and end users.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, document and maintain advanced security configurations in Workday to protect confidential and sensitive data, including encryption and secure authentication methods.
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and organizational structures to ensure only authorized individuals can view or modify, regularly auditing and updating access privileges.
  • Monitor system activity with real-time alerts and analytics to detect, investigate, and respond promptly to potential security threats, unauthorized access, or anomalies.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, documenting findings and recommending improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex security-related issues within Workday, including incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Advise on best practices for data security, develop training materials, and participate in system upgrades and enhancements to maintain the highest standards of protection.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, HR, and other teams across the organization to support ongoing security needs, share knowledge, and align strategies.
  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience with Workday security frameworks, including configuration, testing, and change management.
