Workday Platform Engineer
About The Position
Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Workday Technical Developer with broad expertise across Workday configuration, reporting, calculated fields, business process design, and Workday Extend application development. The role spans technical configuration, custom report design, integration support, and lightweight application extension work, helping HR, finance, and IT stakeholders get more value from the Workday platform. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners—including product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders—to translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered, clean, and maintainable Workday configurations. The role also involves raising engineering standards through code review, design review, and mentorship of more junior engineers. The ideal candidate brings strong Workday platform knowledge, engineering discipline, clear communication, and a track record of delivering production-ready work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Five or more years of Workday technical experience.
- Deep expertise in Workday Report Writer, including advanced and composite reports.
- Strong proficiency with calculated fields across HCM and Finance.
- Hands-on experience configuring business processes and condition rules.
- Strong understanding of the Workday security framework.
- Experience with PRISM Analytics or Workday Extend.
- Familiarity with Workday tenant management and the release process.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice To Haves
- Workday Pro certifications.
- Experience with Workday Extend application development.
- Familiarity with PRISM data ingestion and modeling.
- Exposure to multi-tenant or multi-region Workday deployments.
- Experience supporting Workday Payroll or Workday Financials.
Responsibilities
- Configure and support the Workday platform, including business processes and condition rules.
- Design custom Workday reports, including advanced and composite reports.
- Develop and maintain calculated fields across HCM and Finance.
- Support integrations and lightweight application extension work.
- Work with HR, finance, IT, product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into maintainable Workday solutions.
- Conduct code and design reviews and mentor more junior engineers.
- Troubleshoot Workday platform issues and support tenant management and release processes.
