About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Workday Integration Developer to join our team. This role involves architecting, designing, and developing integrations using various Workday tools, translating complex functional requirements into robust technical solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will also provide technical guidance, mentor junior developers, and manage the full lifecycle of integrations, including production support and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with large-scale ERP integrations, Workday technologies, Java development, and integrating across HCM, Finance, and Research Administration domains, preferably within a Higher Ed setting.

Requirements

• 15+ years of hands-on experience with large scale ERP integrations and related technologies, such as web services, XML, XSLT, SOAP and REST
• Strong experience with Workday including Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect and Orchestrate.
• Strong ability to translate complex functional requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Strong understanding of Workday security and Workday reporting
• Advanced Java development skills for custom Studio components.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Extensive experience integrating across HCM, Finance, and Research Administration.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated mentorship and leadership capabilities.
• Solid understanding of Workday security, APIs, and data structures.
• Workday implementation experience in Higher Ed setting

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Experience with Service management tools like JIRA
• Experience with Huron Research Suite integrations

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop integrations using EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, and Workday Orchestrate, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and compliance.
• Translate complex functional requirements into robust technical solutions, including data mapping, transformation logic, and error-handling frameworks.
• Partner with HCM, Finance, and Research Admin teams to understand business processes and deliver high-quality integration outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and best-practice coaching to junior developers and analysts.
• Build and support integrations across multiple Workday domains, ensuring alignment with security, audit, and data governance standards.
• Develop custom components within Workday Studio using Java, including reusable libraries and advanced transformation logic.
• Own the full lifecycle of integrations: requirements, design, development, testing, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Diagnose integration failures, optimize performance, and ensure SLAs are met for critical data flows.
