About The Position

This position serves as the Workday Data Conversion Developer on the Information Technology Team with the University of Arkansas System. Reporting to the Data Conversion Lead, the Conversion Developer will build ETL pipelines to ingest data from heterogeneous sources into the University of Arkansas System. Must have excellent business and communication skills and be able to work with technical leads to understand their data requirements and help them make data-related decisions using your ETL knowledge and experience. The job role requires in-depth database knowledge as well as basic programming and scripting skills. The job helps build efficient and stable data pipelines which can be easily maintained and/or modified as needed. Expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets is required.

Requirements

  • The educational equivalent of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least two years of related experience
  • Expert-level T-SQL knowledge (query performance tuning, index maintenance, etc.)
  • Understanding of database structure and SQL Server database engine particulars
  • Medium- to Expert-level Knowledge of data modeling principles
  • Knowledge of SSIS tools sets
  • Knowledge of various SQL Server data storage mechanisms and virtual server capacities
  • High attention to detail
  • Passionate about complex data structures and problem-solving

Nice To Haves

  • The educational equivalent of Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Significant experience building integrations and reports
  • Experience with change management related to ERP systems or other large enterprise system deployments

Responsibilities

  • Build ETL pipelines to ingest data from heterogeneous sources into the University of Arkansas System.
  • Understand data requirements and make data-related decisions using ETL knowledge and experience.

  • Design, create, manage, and utilize large datasets for business purposes.
  • Perform basic database administration (DBA) tasks such as database creation, backups, security assignment, log, and file maintenance.
