About The Position

The Workday Benefits Administrator supports the Workday team by providing day-to-day benefits administration and client support throughout the implementation and post-production transition process. This role serves as a key point of contact for clients during the hyper-care period, bridging the gap between a client's Workday production environment becoming available and the approval and activation of production benefit files with carriers. The Workday Benefits Administrator is responsible for maintaining benefit enrollments on behalf of clients through manual carrier portal entry, ensuring enrollment information is entered accurately, timely, and in accordance with client requirements. This position collaborates closely with Client Managers, Workday implementation teams, EDI teams, carriers, vendors, and other internal partners to research and resolve enrollment discrepancies and ensure a smooth transition to automated carrier file processing.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or a related field.
  • Experience with carrier/vendor portals and detailed data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with sensitive enrollment data.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and client communication skills.
  • Strong organization and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience using Workday Benefits as an end user.
  • Experience supporting a benefits administration platform or benefits technology implementation.
  • Experience working with carrier portals and/or electronic enrollment files.
  • Workday Benefits or HCM experience is a plus; but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and internal partners regarding day-to-day benefits administration requests and enrollment needs.
  • Establish and maintain professional, positive relationships with clients, brokers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Respond to client and internal inquiries within the standard 24–48-hour response time and provide timely follow-through through resolution.
  • Communicate enrollment status, issues, requirements, and outstanding items clearly and professionally.
  • Research client questions and escalations and coordinate resolution with the appropriate internal or external partner.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with clients and participating in client meetings or demonstrations.
  • Process and maintain employee benefit enrollments through carrier/vendor portals.
  • Verify enrollment data and process enrollments, changes, terminations, and qualifying life events.
  • Provide hyper-care support during the transition to automated carrier files.
  • Identify and resolve enrollment discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
  • Partner with EDI and implementation teams to support a smooth transition to automated processing.
  • Support the Workday team with benefits administration activities related to client implementations, renewals, reworks, and ongoing operations.
  • Utilize client-specific benefit requirements, benefit class grids, rates, eligibility rules, site verbiage, documents, and other requirements to accurately administer benefits.
  • Assist with updating requirements and client documentation used for system builds and self-service sites.
  • Collaborate with Workday team members to validate benefit information and identify potential discrepancies.
