Requirements

  • Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • The employee in this job must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the company’s safety manual.
  • less than High School Diploma.
  • At least 1-2 years related traffic control experience preferred.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America to qualify for employment with the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Foreman and skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision.
  • Assist the foreman in aspects of traffic control, i.e., road striping, pavement marking, and the fabrication and installation of all types of temporary and permanent signs and traffic control devices.
  • Fabricates, erects and maintains temporary traffic control devices, including arrow boards, signs, barricades, channelizing devices, barrels and all message boards.
  • May operate a truck during traffic control operations.
  • Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies.
  • Clean tools, equipment, materials and work area.
  • Uses power tools and air tools.
  • When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisor.
