About The Position

Responsible for scheduling and managing the five-week schedule for outage and non-outage maintenance. This role involves providing day-to-day coordination of the schedule in progress, ensuring performance requirements are met to support the five-week rolling schedule, and identifying systems and equipment that require tagging out for maintenance tasks. The Work Week Manager will coordinate and negotiate with various departments to ensure jobs are scheduled appropriately, manage emerging activities, and incorporate technical specifications, maintenance rules, LCO, and plant configuration changes into the schedule. A key aspect of this role is to ensure scheduling is efficient, minimizes shutdown risks, and maintains the integrity of plant systems. Additionally, the position requires managing radiological control work practices and contamination control program requirements, including identifying and correcting improper practices and tracking data to implement corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ten years of work experience, including seven years in nuclear power and three years in work management.
  • Candidate must possess experience and knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Operations, Maintenance and/or Systems Engineering.
  • Perform all duties, and work with other employees in a safe manner, in compliance with appropriate company safety policies and rules.
  • Support and participate in the Emergency Response Organization, HAZMAT response organization, and Corrective Action Program activities as assigned, and in accordance with procedures and policies applicable for the assigned role.
  • Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently hold or previously held Senior Reactor Operator License or certification is desirable.
  • Education and experience / licensing and certification requirements of this position conform to ANSI N18.1 – 1971 and ANSI/ANS-3.1-1993.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day coordination of schedule in progress.
  • Ensure the performance requirements are in place to support the five-week rolling schedule.
  • Identify the systems and equipment which must be tagged out to complete various maintenance tasks and notify operations of windows for tagging out the systems and equipment.
  • Identify the systems and equipment scheduled for removal from service.
  • Coordinate and negotiate with various departments to ensure all jobs are scheduled during the appropriate window.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of emerging activities with other NGG departments.
  • Ensure technical specifications, maintenance rules, LCO and plant configuration changes are incorporated into the schedule.
  • Ensure the scheduling is done in the most efficient manner, that shutdown risks are minimized, and the integrity of the plant systems is maintained.
  • Manage, implement and adhere to all radiological control work practices and contamination control program requirements, including identification and correction of improper contamination control practices, and tracking and trending data to identify recurring problems in order to implement corrective action.
  • Prepare and administer budget plans to manage and control expenses within the established guidelines.
  • Assume responsibility for continuously upgrading knowledge and skill.
  • Perform duties that may involve work in hazardous areas and possible radiation exposure within the limits prescribed by the NRC.
