About The Position
The Work Experience Coach provides career readiness coaching, supports youth during placements, communicates with employers and worksite supervisors, and helps ensure required documentation and subsidized placement timesheets are completed accurately and on time. This position is not responsible for service-learning projects.
Requirements
- Associate degree in education, workforce development, human services, business, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience supporting young people with career preparation, employment, internships, or work-based learning.
- Experience communicating with employers, worksite supervisors, or community partners.
- Experience facilitating or supporting job-readiness, career competency, or workplace-preparation activities.
- Strong coaching, communication, organization, documentation, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build respectful relationships with youth leaders from diverse communities.
- Ability to manage multiple placements and time-sensitive documentation with consistent supervision and team coordination.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally among OPP, employer sites, and youth placements.

- Experience in youth development, workforce development, career coaching, internships, employment placement, or work-based learning.
Responsibilities
- Preparing youth leaders for interviews workplace expectations, communication, reliability, and self-advocacy.
- Connecting youth to internships, work experiences, and employment opportunities aligned with their goals and credentials.
- Maintaining regular contact with youth and employers during placements.
- Supporting placement success through coaching, problem-solving, worksite visits, and next-step planning.
- Reviewing and submitting timesheets for subsidized internships and work experiences.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and coordinating with HYSC staff.
