About The Position

The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator (In-School Youth) develops employer partnerships and work-based learning opportunities for participants in the HGCY In-School Youth Pilot. The position coordinates internships, micro-internships, industry tours, and employer events, and monitors worksites. The Coordinator works with Youth Career Advisors, schools, and employers to match participants with experiences aligned with their career interests. The role also supports participant and employer onboarding, monitors participant progress and employer feedback, maintains accurate records, tracks engagement and outcomes, and helps graduating participants connect with career opportunities. Regional travel is estimated at 50–75%, and the position may include nights and weekends.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, workforce development, human resources, education, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a degree is preferred.
Experience building professional relationships with employers and community partners.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple employers, participants, activities, and deadlines.
Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office.
Ability to accurately track employer activity, participant placements, and program outcomes.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Regional travel estimated at 50–75%.

Responsibilities

Build relationships with employers, industry partners, schools, colleges, and community organizations.
Recruit employers for work-based learning, internships, micro-internships, industry tours, job shadowing, and career exploration activities.
Develop work-based learning and micro-internship opportunities aligned with participants’ career pathways and fields of study.
Coordinate employer speakers, industry tours, job shadowing, and other employer engagement activities.
Work with Youth Career Advisors to match participants with opportunities, coordinate referrals, and share placement information with Advisors and program leadership.
Develop employer connections for Summer Jobs and other youth employment initiatives.
Support participant and employer onboarding for work-based learning activities.
Monitor worksites, participant progress, and employer feedback; share findings with Advisors to inform case management and career planning.
Resolve worksite concerns with Advisors and the Program Manager (In-School Youth).
Maintain employer, opportunity, and worksite records, and document activities accurately.
Track employer recruitment and engagement, industry tours, work-based learning placements, completions, and outcomes; report results to the Program Manager (In-School Youth).
Help graduating participants connect with work-based learning, employment, and other career opportunities.
Help plan and deliver senior-year career immersion activities, including developing and monitoring career-aligned micro-internships.
Participate in staff meetings, program planning, training, and service improvement efforts.
Follow EDSI and program policies and procedures.
