About The Position

The woodworker constructs and repairs items such as boxes, crates, pallets, and storage bins from wood and wood substitutes. This role involves studying specifications, and measuring, marking, and cutting boards using patterns, templates, rulers, pencils, and hand and power saws. The worker fastens or installs parts using a hammer, nailing machine, or power staple, and repairs defective containers by replacing damaged parts, and inserting wood bracings, cardboard files, and felt pads in containers.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of tools/machinery and how to operate them safely.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in woodworking.
• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills.
• Must have computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Possess a Valid Drivers’ License.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check

Responsibilities

• Build crate around object, using ruler, hand tools, and pneumatic nailer
• Fabricate, repair, modify, and replace woodwork on vehicle sides and beds
• Apply preservative to prolong wood life
• Pack, seal, band, and apply markings to crates and containers
• Performs other relevant duties as assigned
