About The Position

Rustica is currently seeking a Wood Utility worker who will perform a variety of duties within the woodshop. This is an entry-level position with only basic woodworking skills needed—will be trained in specific duties. This position will report to the woods shop manager, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate work, per customer orders. This position will be primarily responsible for wood prep, sanding, measuring, cutting, glueing and otherwise assembling customer orders. The position will require at least a basic knowledge of woodworking principles, machinery, and processes. High attention to detail required, along with the ability to follow instructions. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and the ability to learn various wood working tools, and have a proven history of hard work and determination to produce highest-quality products. We are looking for someone looking to grow with a company, and who has a proven history of long-term employment. The ideal candidate will have a sense of urgency, as well as innovative and continually looking for improvements to processes.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of woodworking processes and principles.
  • Ability to learn and safely operate woodworking equipment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn various wood working tools.
  • Proven history of hard work and determination.
  • Proven history of long-term employment.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and production goals.
  • Ability to lift approximately 60 lbs. frequently throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand 10 hrs. / day.

Nice To Haves

  • Cabinetry or construction experience a plus.
  • Experience running woodworking machinery a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints and other shop drawings a plus.
