About The Position

Tayco, an Office Furniture Manufacturer, is seeking a Wood Product Assembler to join their Cabinetry Team. This role involves assembling various office furniture items and affixing hardware according to standard operating procedures. The position requires adherence to quality standards, Health & Safety policies, and Tayco policies. Requirements

• Able to operate hand/power tools (drills, pneumatic guns, wrapping machines, etc.) and pump trucks.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to take initiative and demonstrate proactive problem solving in daily work.
• Able to multi-task and adapt to changing conditions.
• Works well with others and builds effective working relationships within the department and Tayco.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and to carry, move, manipulate and/or position them, as well as move, bend, twist or occasional awkward body positions while performing work.
• Has good hand-eye coordination and muscular control sufficient to operate tools or equipment and see closely/listen intently in order to detect flaws or errors and achieve detailed results.
• Able to understand and follow established personal safety, security, and environmental practices.
• Knowledgeable of and compliant with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
• Must be trained in Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Assembling desks, credenzas, laterals, file cabinets, hutches, bookcases, storage units.
• Affixing hardware in accordance with standard operating procedures using pneumatic guns and other tools.
• Ensuring quality standards of products.
• Consistently adhering to Health & Safety and Tayco policies.
