About The Position

The Assistant Coach for Women’s Soccer assists the Head Coach in designated aspects of running the Women’s Soccer program. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, organizing goalkeeper training sessions to alight with team objectives, scouting opponents, recruiting as needed, implementing IDPs, video analysis, coaching ID Clinics and game preparation. The Assistant Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pomona College, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), and the NCAA Division III.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience required.
A valid driver’s license is required or an equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events.
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a coach at the collegiate or professional level of athletics.
Strong administrative, interpersonal skills, and computer/technology skills.
Appropriate certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, or willingness to complete certifications upon hire if working independently with student-athletes.
Operate computers with basic Microsoft Office software (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and associated professional software (such as Internet research and menu-driven databases).
Demonstrate understanding of the use of equipment in assessing and improving department systems and processes to achieve annual goals and maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrate effective, accurate, and clear communication with excellent/strong verbal, written, interpersonal, reading, phone, and customer service skills.
Follow all written and verbal instructions, asking questions as needed for clarification of duties.
Use strong organizational and time management skills to complete work with accuracy and keen attention to detail.
All staff positions are ineligible for visa or permanent resident card sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
Experience in the recruitment of academically focused scholar-athletes is preferred.

Assist with the oversight of the Athletic Performance Center (Year-long)
Assist with the Center for Athletics, Recreation, and Wellness (Year-long)
Serve on department committees (Year-long)
