About The Position

The Women’s Health Clinical Manager is responsible for providing leadership and supervision of Women’s Health Medical Assistants and coordinating clinical operations across assigned health centers. This role ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Tampa Family Health Centers (TFHC) policies and procedures. The Clinical Manager plays a key role in quality management, risk management, and operational efficiency within Women’s Care services.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting program
  • Current Medical Assistant certification required (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience in Women’s Health or OB/GYN settings
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with inventory and equipment management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards
  • Ability to effectively use electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision to Women’s Health Medical Assistants across multiple clinic locations
  • Implement and maintain policies, procedures, and clinical workflows to support patient-centered care
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory bodies, including AAAHC, OSHA, NCQA, and CMS
  • Oversee daily staffing coordination and scheduling in collaboration with center clinical leaders
  • Manage onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations for staff
  • Oversee externships for Medical Assistant students in the Women’s Care department
  • Coordinate OB/GYN-related medications and long-acting reversible contraceptive devices (LARCs)
  • Maintain appropriate PAR levels and oversee device replacement for failed insertions or defective devices
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for equipment vendors, including: Ultrasound machines Trophon2 Colposcopes (including EVA) Procedure beds Autoclaves
  • Ensure compliance with Florida Prenatal Screen requirements per Florida Statutes 383.14
  • Perform chart reviews and enforce compliance with documentation, workflows, and UDS data collection
  • Identify and promote professional development opportunities for staff
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and implement strategies for continuous improvement
  • Utilize patient recall lists (no-shows, missed prenatal care, overdue preventative care such as Pap tests)
  • Coordinate provider utilization and scheduling performance with the Women’s Health Practice Manager
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among Women’s Care providers and interdisciplinary teams
  • Participate in interdepartmental meetings to coordinate care and share updates
  • Travel between multiple Women’s Health sites to provide oversight and ensure consistency
  • Ensure provider and staff in-baskets are addressed accurately and timely
  • Monitor inventory control using cost-effective practices while ensuring adequate supply levels
  • Request authorization for purchases as required
  • Perform direct clinical duties as needed for coverage
  • Perform other duties as assigned
