About The Position

The Women’s Center Coordinator oversees the operations and services delivered at the Carolyn Conner’s Women’s Center, a dedicated space for all women and non-binary guests at St. Francis House. The Women’s Center Coordinator is responsible for managing the milieu space, event planning and coordination, and all administrative tasks necessary to upholding a welcoming and engaging environment that allows for high-quality service delivery that is trauma informed, person-centered, and recovery oriented.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment with compassion and professionalism.
  • Basic understanding of and commitment to taking a person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of community resources and best practices with at-risk populations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with the homeless population and/or experience working with vulnerable female adult populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish or Haitian Creole) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques or crisis intervention preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Lived experience of homelessness and/or recovery a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Haitian Creole) preferred.
  • Due to uniqueness of Center, must be a woman and/or non-binary person.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures a welcoming and engaging environment where guests can access community, care, information and resources.
  • Develops positive and trusting relationships with guests while maintaining a sense of calm authority in the space.
  • Provides independent management of the milieu space during times in which Women’s Center Clinician is running clinical groups or meeting with guests 1:1 for clinical intervention.
  • Supports guests in addressing individual short term case management needs such as shelter search, obtaining vital documents, managing appointments, etc.
  • Provide crisis intervention and assistance with de-escalation as needed.
  • Serves as a SFH representative with external partners including DMH, Women’s Lunch Place, Rosie’s Place, Woods Mullen, etc.
  • Responsible for the planning and hosting of SFH’s annual Women’s Day event.
  • Keeps careful, timely, and accurate documentation of Women’s Center attendance, activities, referrals, and services.
  • Actively participates in regular staff meetings, trainings, and supervisions.
  • Maintains Women’s Center budget and inventory, ensuring timely and consistent ordering of supplies within the Women’s Center.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to agency code of conduct.
  • Provides administrative oversight of Women’s Center volunteers and interns, including training and onboarding of new staff and volunteers.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the center and any volunteers, interns, or covering staff.
