About The Position

Amentum is seeking a dynamic Women, Peace, & Security Military Planner to provide research, planning and analysis support to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. Requirements

  • Graduate of a military command and staff college (JPME Phase 1)
  • 15+ years of DoD experience
  • DoD WPS Focal Point training & certification
  • Knowledge of WPS and gender issues and the ability to apply knowledge to strategic and/or practical situations, including analysis of projects from a gender perspective
  • 5+ years of experience within Indo-Pacific; knowledge of USINDOPACOM Theater Strategy and USINDOPACOM battle rhythm and processes
  • 3+ years of experience working in or familiarity with Women, Peace, and Security
  • 5+ years of experience with joint doctrine, joint strategic planning, and the joint operational planning process
  • 5+ years of experience in Military Plans, preferably joint-multinational planning
  • Active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.

  • Knowledge of the planning continuum to include the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), Joint Operating Concepts (JOC), and Joint Capabilities Areas (JCA)
  • Detailed knowledge of USINDOPACOM policy and strategy and a thorough understanding of USINDOPACOM TCP/TCO, GCPs, CT EXORD, OPLANs, CONPLANs, and Theater Security Cooperation Plans including linkages to parallel national interests
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. national plans and policy (National Security Strategy (NSS), National Military Strategy (NMS), Unified Command Plan (UCP), Guidance for Employment of the Force (GEF), and Joint Strategic Campaign Plan (JSCP)

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing in order to provide information, articles, written reports, and presentations to include delivering executive summaries to flag and general officers (FO/GO) and Senior Executive Service (SES) level officials

Responsibilities

  • Support USINDOPACOM as a WPS planner, working with Foreign Partners to execute joint military exercises incorporating WPS initiatives and curricula, as well as integrating WPS perspectives and approach into USINDOPACOM strategy and plans
  • Incorporate DoW and USG WPS objectives throughout the Command’s planning cycle to inform operations, to include but not limited to the Theater Campaign Plan (TCP), Theater Campaign Order (TCO), Theater Posture Plan, Country Engagement Plans (CEBs), and other USINDOPACOM strategic planning documents.
  • Contribute to the revision of USINDOPACOM strategies, plans, and policies, ensuring compliance with WPS statutory requirements.
  • Participate in USINDOPACOM battle rhythm joint planning groups and other working groups as a WPS expert, as appropriate.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for WPS Courses and events
  • Provide instructor and facilitator support to WPS security cooperation training and engagements
  • Act a J56 Action Officer, providing necessary administrative, logistical, and technical support to the Branch, including ETMS2 management as required.
  • Conduct research, both unclassified and classified, on various topics supporting ongoing and emerging operational concepts and plans, distilling that research into actionable recommendations .
  • Provide assistance to senior-level strategic planning and briefings, including preparing formal papers and background information for USINDOPACOM senior leader consumption.
  • Provide assistance on short timeline responses to specific questions pertaining to WPS integration into policy and operational plans; analyze subject plans and concepts for areas of concern; research and analyze various pertinent national security policies, military strategies, vulnerability assessments, threat and intelligence assessments; and inform planning efforts and new concept development.
  • Review, assess, compile and coordinate documentation for planning developments and requirements at the Geographical Combatant Command level; preparing USINDOPACOM FOGO leadership for briefing requirements
