The In-House Agency RN Program offers PRN employment for 13-week intervals in the Perinatal and/or Labor & Delivery inpatient units. Participants are required to work 36 hours/week for 13 weeks and will be paid a competitive hourly rate plus weekend differentials. The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in the UAMS Perinatal (E6) and/or Labor & Delivery (E5) units, located in the Harry P. Ward Clinical Tower. These units deliver comprehensive, high-risk obstetrical care to patients from across the state. The Perinatal Unit (E6) features 28 rooms and a newborn procedure area, supporting postpartum, well newborn, high-risk antepartum, and gynecologic patients. The Labor & Delivery Unit (E5) includes 14 LDR suites, triage beds, operating rooms, recovery space, and neonatal stabilization rooms, with approximately 300–330 deliveries per month. Both units emphasize patient- and family-centered care, allowing stable newborns to remain with their mothers to promote bonding. In this professional nursing role, the Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and triaging patient care, collaborating with providers, fellows, and interdisciplinary staff, and supporting seamless transitions of care. The RN works closely with patients and their families to develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinates appointments and referrals, and provides education on complex health conditions.
