About The Position

Reporting to the Deputy Warden of Operations, the Women and Youth Correctional Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of Women and Youth Correctional Caseworkers at the Nunavut Women's Correctional Centre (NWCC) and the Isumaqsunngittukkuvik Young Offenders (YO) Facility during an assigned shift. Working within a secure custodial environment, the position oversees the provision of a safe and secure custodial environment that emphasises women and youth client rehabilitation and reintegration. As a member of the facility leadership team, the position provides leadership, supervision, training, and mentoring to Women and Youth Correctional Caseworkers, oversees client programming and case management activities, and may perform the duties of a Women and Youth Correctional Caseworker or act in the Deputy Warden of Operations position when required.

Requirements

Must be Nunavut Inuit who reside in Iqaluit.
Direct supervision experience.
Experience working within a secure custodial environment.
Experience in client rehabilitation and reintegration.
Leadership, supervision, training, and mentoring skills.
Experience overseeing client programming and case management activities.
