WOCN Scholar
About The Position
The WOCN Scholar position is available exclusively to current Northside Hospital employees who hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing and are interested in attending an accredited WOCN education program. Two positions are available—one at the Atlanta campus and one at the Gwinnett campus. Northside will assist with tuition costs for the selected candidates. The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
Nice To Haves
- BSN degree
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
- Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
- Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
Responsibilities
- Independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
