About The Position

Responsible for proper separation, processing, distribution and recording of all linen items.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
• Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
• Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment
• Must be able to read and follow written work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment for daily operation.
• Process linen according to set procedures for the specific linen item.
• All OR/sterile packs are assembled according to set procedures.
• Linen carts are filled and delivered to the units based upon designated timeframes.
• Maintain accurate record of linen utilization.
• Maintains clear and safe work area.
• Participates in in-service programs and adheres to hospital/department policies and procedures.
• Sorts all soiled linen into categories.
• Adheres to infectious control standards in regards to following the procedures established for Universal Precautions and working with Infectious Medical Waste.
• Cross trained to wash clothes as needed.
