Requirements
- Minimum of six months of accumulated service time in current position to be eligible to bid on this position, unless otherwise stated
- Successful completion of the CNSP Operations Test
- Thorough understanding of production processes and operational requirements
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop team members
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn new processes
- Proven ability to positively influence and motivate a team through commitment to Caterpillar's Values in Action
Nice To Haves
- Previous leadership or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience coordinating production activities and workflow management
- Strong knowledge of quality processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience training and mentoring employees
Responsibilities
- Lead, initiate, support, and sustain change as directed
- Monitor department activities to ensure employees work safely at all times and utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Coordinate and sequence work assignments within the department to ensure smooth workflow and optimum production efficiency
- Issue daily instructions and work assignments to employees to meet production and build requirements
- Direct and/or oversee departmental housekeeping and cleanup activities
- Partner with employees to address nonconformance issues and quality-related concerns
- Assist with monitoring employee performance and provide input for performance evaluations
- Support training efforts and help employees learn processes and procedures
