About The Position

The Wiring Design Release Engineer is a key position responsible for designing and battery pack internal electrical connectivity systems for internal ABS and external customer products. This role involves leading harness topology and partitioning, packaging components, and collaborating with other systems within the application. The engineer will optimize harness complexity across product lines to leverage standardization and modularity, lead coding of all circuits, and complete electrical connectivity design for a battery system. This includes creating Wire-list and DEF files for composite harness design, performing load analysis, and reviewing voltage drop calculations and circuit sizing. The position also involves in-line connector pin count determination and circuit protection. The engineer will collaborate with Systems Engineers and BMS Hardware Engineers to ensure all internal and customer-specific requirements are met, track and report on program progress, and support pre-launch builds and product launches. The role also includes other duties as assigned, predictable and reliable attendance, and adherence to all company policies, processes, procedures, and federal and state regulations.
