This Wireroom Warehouse Associate position is a backfill within the team at the Gerrie Distribution Centre in Burlington, where the associate will work as part of a team to ensure accurate picking, cutting, shipping, and receiving of products.

Requirements

  • Interested in pursuing a career in the electrical industry
  • You have good communication skills and like the idea of working as part of a team
  • Cable cutting experience
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Effective numeracy skills
  • Ability to work in a face paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Material handling experience is an asset
  • Counterbalance and reach truck experience & certification is an asset
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Organization of the wireroom
  • Interface with Gerrie Branches for rushes and special requests
  • Prioritize workload and work in a safe and effective manner
  • Responsible for accurate receipt and put away of all wire products inbound on a daily basis
  • Work with Manager to prioritize all orders, and other work duties
  • Ensure purchasing department or branches are notified of any discrepancies on orders, email printed and attached to product.
  • Urgent/Rush orders are to be processed in a timely manner
  • Ensure the quality of all assigned tasks, through a double check, spot check or quality assurance processes
  • Resolve or escalate any issues that affect productivity or flow
  • Create and maintain open lines of communication with Team Lead by keeping them informed of the status as required
  • Participate in continuous improvement and CARE initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
