About The Position

Baker Hughes is seeking a Wireline Field Operator to join their OFS Wireline Team. This role is part of the Wireline Services Product Line and is described as the first and only comprehensive provider of digital oilfield products, services and solutions. The Wireline Field Operator will be fully competent in all aspects of operator duties at the well site and at the shop, capable of maintaining the unit, performing pre-job, well-site, and post-job duties, and training junior operators.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Heavy mechanical aptitude, including hands‑on experience working with tools, equipment, engines, or other mechanical systems.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to obtain ATF explosives certification.
• Must be able to drive a manual (stick‑shift) vehicle and have a Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement OR successfully pass the company’s driving test on a manual (stick‑shift) vehicle and obtain a Class A or B CDL and/or Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Able to work on‑call 24/7 and have the flexibility to remain at well sites for extended periods.
• Able to travel as required, including frequent regional travel and occasional extended stays at remote locations.
• Clean driving record and the ability to pass a federal background check.
• Able to use computers for communication, reporting, and other work‑related tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Possess a Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement at the time of hire.
• Demonstrated hands‑on mechanical experience such as equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair work within oil & gas industry.

Responsibilities

• Preparing for jobs and performing tool maintenance, pre-job and post- job tool checkout.
• Rigging-up and rigging-down equipment at the well site.
• Servicing mechanical devices and building logging cable heads.
• Perforating cable heads and maintenance on the tools.
• Maintaining well site/DOT records and communications as required by District Manager.
• Promoting and maintaining good customer relations.
• Receiving instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on well site activity.
• Performing basic duties at the well site and at the shop.
• Driving company vehicles in a safe manner while observing company and government regulations.
• Participating in quality improvement efforts for ballistics operations.
• Supervising and train other Field Operators while maintaining a high level of safety awareness at the well site.
• Performing other related duties as required.
