The Wireless QA/Automation Engineer role involves setting and maintaining quality standards for company products through systematic processes. This includes developing, modifying, and executing software test strategies, plans, and suites. The engineer will analyze and write test standards and procedures, maintain documentation of test results for debugging and modification, and analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action. A key part of the role is developing tools and environments to automate test execution and consulting with development engineers to resolve problems. Contributions will impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainably, applying advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues. The role requires significant independent judgment to determine the best method for achieving objectives and may involve participation in cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years’ experience.
  • Basic knowledge of 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be protocol standards.
  • Hands-on experience with wireless access point validation.
  • Basic understanding of routing and switching concepts (VLAN, DHCP, DNS, NAT).
  • Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced, technical environments.
  • Scripting experience in Python.

Nice To Haves

  • CWNA, CWSP, or CWAP certification.
  • Experience with ISE or ClearPass.
  • Basic knowledge of L2TPv3/IPsec protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain system testbeds using Access Points, networking devices, and servers.
  • Perform QA validation of 802.11 wireless standards and proprietary features.
  • Conduct end-to-end validation of client-to-cloud architecture.
  • Recreate customer-reported issues in lab environments and collaborate with global engineering teams to drive resolution.
  • Execute performance testing using tools like iPerf, ixChariot, etc..
  • Partner with the Customer Support (CS) team to review defect reports and enhance test coverage.
  • Log and track bugs in Jira, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Escalate critical issues promptly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation in Confluence for CS and QA teams.
  • Mentor and train Level 1/2 Engineers on emerging wireless technologies
