Location: This is an on-site position in Tampa, Florida The Wireless Technical Specialist is responsible for the installation, configuration, support, and maintenance of wireless networking solutions across customer and organizational environments. This role provides hands-on technical support for wireless infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity, secure access, and consistent user experiences. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leadership, the Wireless Technical Specialist assists with wireless deployments, troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational support activities. This position serves as a key technical resource for resolving wireless connectivity issues, supporting customer environments, and maintaining wireless network documentation. The ideal candidate possesses strong foundational networking knowledge, hands-on experience with wireless technologies such as Cisco Meraki, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience may be substituted for formal education.
  • 1–3 years of experience supporting enterprise networking or wireless infrastructure.
  • Experience working with Cisco Meraki, Cisco Wireless, Aruba, or similar wireless technologies preferred.
  • Experience supporting end-user connectivity and network-related incidents.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless networking, and basic routing concepts.
  • Familiarity with enterprise wireless standards and technologies including 802.11ac and 802.11ax.
  • Experience configuring and supporting wireless access points and cloud-managed wireless platforms.
  • Understanding of wireless security concepts including WPA2/WPA3 and guest access configurations.
  • Good Understanding of Meraki profile configurations and Dashboard
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve wireless connectivity and performance issues.
  • Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Working knowledge of Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Asset Management, and Service Level Management.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain wireless access points, SSIDs, and related network equipment.
  • Perform day-to-day administration of wireless networks using Cisco Meraki and other cloud-managed networking platforms.
  • Monitor wireless network performance and identify connectivity, coverage, or capacity concerns.
  • Troubleshoot wireless client connectivity issues involving laptops, mobile devices, printers, IoT devices, and other wireless endpoints.
  • Escalate complex wireless issues to senior engineering resources when necessary.
  • Assist with wireless network deployments, equipment installations, and site rollouts.
  • Support access point replacements, firmware upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Participate in wireless expansion projects and office relocations.
  • Assist with basic wireless coverage validation and signal testing activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of wireless configurations, inventory, and network diagrams.
  • Support incident, request, problem, and change management processes.
  • Provide technical support during planned maintenance windows and service upgrades.
  • Participate in on-call rotation activities as assigned.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and customers regarding wireless network services.
  • Collaborate with Network Engineering, Security, Service Desk, and Infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deliver a professional customer experience during onsite and remote engagements.
