Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Wire Operator for their 2nd shift in East Longmeadow, MA. This role involves operating and monitoring equipment to process various types of high-speed wire, maintaining production data, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. Requirements

Knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers
1-2 years’ preferred experience
Use of numbers including decimals
Light physical effort required, equivalent to lifting, pushing, pulling 5 to 25 pounds
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Responsibilities

Operating and monitoring equipment to swage, straighten, anneal and draw various types of high-speed wire to several finished diameters.
Maintaining required records and operating material handling equipment.
Operating rotary swaging machine to reduce end of coil for starting in die.
Feeding wire through straightening rolls and defect detector.
Cutting out weld section, removing drawn coil and starting new coil on two take up drums according to established procedures.
Transferring coil on rack to position for next draw.
Monitoring area of defect detector, marking defective areas indicated and polishing area with hand held, air operated grinder with abrasive sleeve.
Performing designated "Total Preventative Maintenance" as prescribed and entering required information on maintenance log.
Using computer wand to transfer daily production data, including quantity, item, machine, process, and other information from master sheet to computer.
Maintaining work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Detecting and reporting equipment malfunctions, defective materials, unusual situations or other problems to the supervisor.
Following all safety rules, regulations and practices and employing all safety devices and equipment.
Observing and obeying all safety rules, regulations and practices and employing all safety equipment and devices.
Performing other similar or related duties as assigned or directed.
