About The Position

The Wire Harness Technician III fabricates complex harness and enclosure products according to specifications and within operating budget. This role involves assembling electrical & electronic components, wiring harnesses, equipment racks, mechanical devices, and other electrical assemblies & subassemblies. The technician will manufacture electronic/electrical circuitry, electronic components (CCA's), and wiring harnesses according to Manufacturing Orders (M.O.), Drawings, Engineering Changes, Customer Specifications, and Process Instructions (P.I.). Responsibilities include loading, soldering, touching up, and reworking PCBA's, operating automatic stripping, crimping, wire cutting, and basic test equipment, and integrating and testing sub-assemblies and/or final assemblies following blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and test procedures. The role also requires troubleshooting, diagnosing, and correcting malfunctions, performing minor equipment setup, and potentially assisting with soldering or completing rework on assemblies. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company policies, and assisting/overseeing lower-level technicians are also key duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of high reliability manufacturing experience; defense/aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desired.
  • Capable of passing background check.
  • Capable of passing a drug screen.
  • Familiar with working under AS 9100.
  • Current or previous IPC-620 & IPC-610 or J-STD-001 certified.
  • Familiar with and understands IPC, J-STD, AS and MIL specifications as they relate to Defense/Aerospace requirements in CCA's and Harness build.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Understand ESD processes.
  • Experienced in cable harness build - both crimp and solder.
  • Harness fabrication and enclosure integration experience.
  • Experience with specifications required to produce products in a defense/aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic problems.
  • Versed in inspection techniques and specifications interpretation.
  • Basic knowledge of "build to print" operations.
  • Demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management.
  • Ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability to recommend process changes within the scope of procedures and policies to facilitate production goals.
  • Ability to assist other technicians with understanding drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Ability to write Manufacturing Orders from drawings.
  • Costpoint Deltek experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assists and oversees lower-level technicians.
  • Performs other tasks as needed.
