About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space, & Security (BDS) is looking for a Wire Harness Installation Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Lead) to join their team in Oklahoma City, OK. This position will provide engineering support across the Boeing portfolio of products, including Boeing Military Aircraft and Military Derivative Aircraft (AEW&C, AWACS, C-32/C-40, E-4B, VC-25A, KC-767, B-1B, B-2, B-52 and others). The teams are hiring for a broad range of experience levels: Associate (Level 2), Experienced (Level 3), or Lead Level Engineers (Level 4).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with CAD software (ex. CATIA, Solidworks, etc).

Nice To Haves

  • Level 3 (Experienced): 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4 (Lead): 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with CATIA and 3DX CAD Software.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains wire harness installation engineering drawings
  • Supports analysis and design reviews
  • Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas)
  • Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests)
  • Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
  • Supports the development of statements of work.
  • Assists in the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection
  • Analyzes functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.
  • Works under general supervision (Associate Level).
  • Analyzes results and performs design reviews (Experienced and Lead Levels).
  • Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities (Experienced and Lead Levels).
  • Develops basic statements of work (Experienced Level).
  • Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection (Experienced Level).
  • Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design (Experienced Level).
  • Works under general direction (Experienced Level).
  • Leads the team to analyze results and performs design reviews (Lead Level).
  • Develops complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgets (Lead Level).
  • Performs technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection (Lead Level).
  • Works under minimal direction (Lead Level).
