About The Position
Coopers Houston is recruiting a Wire Drawing Operator for an industrial copper manufacturing operation in Houston, Texas. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience as a Wire Drawing Operator, Wire Machine Operator, Machine Operator, Production Operator, Manufacturing Operator, Copper Wire Operator, or Industrial Machine Operator. The Wire Drawing Operator will operate and monitor wire drawing machinery used to manufacture copper products according to technical specifications, quality requirements, production schedules, and established process procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months–1 year of experience operating industrial machinery preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Wire drawing, copper wire, metal processing, or industrial production experience is highly valued.
- Basic wire drawing process fundamentals.
- Basic metrology knowledge.
- Industrial machinery operation.
- Basic production documentation.
- SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Inspect wire drawing machines and auxiliary equipment before starting production.
- Set up and mount wire drawing dies according to production specifications.
- Operate wire drawing machinery according to process parameters and routing instructions.
- Monitor critical control points throughout the wire drawing process.
- Identify and report potential quality deviations.
- Collect product samples for quality testing, including grain size, hardness, and torsion testing.
- Record finished products, by-products, and downtime in production systems.
- Complete production documentation and reports.
- Record production information in SAP to support inventory and stock control.
- Generate maintenance notifications when equipment service is required.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and equipment concerns.
- Support plant safety inspections.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area.
- Follow 5S workplace organization practices.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
