About The Position

Viking Electric is seeking a Wire Cutter for their Minneapolis location. This is a full-time position on the 3rd shift, operating from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday. The role involves coiling, spooling, cutting, and labeling wire for customer orders using specialized machinery in a collaborative warehouse environment. Comprehensive on-the-job training is provided for those new to wire cutting. The position requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to stand for most of the shift while lifting or pulling heavy objects. Requirements

Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly, or up to 75 lbs. with the assistance of supportive equipment or team members.
Proficient in using RF devices, computer systems, and other warehouse technology.
Math skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide into different units of measure, including fractions and decimals, using a calculator.
High attention to detail.
Ability to stand and walk for the full length of your shift.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

1-2 years of experience with wire cutting machinery.
Experience and current certification for PIT vehicles (known as forklifts).
Basic English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Coiling, spooling, cutting, and labeling wire for customer orders using specialized machinery.
Review customer orders to determine the appropriate reel size and the type, size, and color of wire needed.
Measure and cut wire using cutting machinery.
Unload empty reels and load new ones onto the wire machine.
Restock and replenish wire inventory as needed.
Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety regulations.
