About The Position

CRV Electronics Corporation is seeking a Wire Cutter to operate wire cutting machines to cut and strip wire and cable for assemblies. This role involves machine setup, operation, and general maintenance. The Wire Cutter may also use manual tools for cutting and stripping wire and cable. This position works under the direct supervision of the Wire Processing Line Lead.

Requirements

• High school education or relevant work experience required.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English required.
• Mechanical skills/knowledge and machine operation experience required.
• Ability to convert between fractions and decimal equivalents.
• Ability to read a ruler to 1/64 of one inch.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to see and differentiate colors.
• Corrected vision that allows reading of small alphanumeric print at a distance of 12-18 inches.
• Ability to lift boxes and spools of wire up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to work while standing, many tasks require standing all day.
• Ability to maintain a brisk pace and meet generally accepted production rates.
• Safety glasses and close-toed shoes with a solid sole required.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of wire cutting machine operation desirable.
• Optional hearing protection.

Responsibilities

• Identify proper specifications from cut sheets and job orders.
• Manually and digitally set up wire cutting machines to job specifications.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of wire cutting machines for proper setup and operation.
• Inspect products to ensure they are within specifications.
• Minimize scrap through proper operation, maintenance, and set up of machines.
• Communicate problems with machine operation and set up to supervisor.
• Perform miscellaneous other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
• Stripe wire using wire striping machine.
