About The Position

Rexel USA is seeking a Wire Cutter to join their Mayer Team in Douglasville, GA. The Wire Cutter is responsible for efficiently and accurately fulfilling orders for wire and cable cuts using material handling equipment and wire reeling/coiling machinery. This role ensures wire/cable is stored, staged, and cut according to company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. The position may require filling in for other warehouse roles. The level and pay will be determined by experience, knowledge, and capabilities.

Requirements

1+ years of wire cutting experience preferred
Prior warehouse or distribution center experience a plus
Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license (if required to make deliveries)
Must be at least 21 years of age (if required to make deliveries)
Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of their Motor Vehicle Record (if required to make deliveries)
Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire (if required to make deliveries)
Must not have had a suspended drivers’ license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years (if required to make deliveries)
Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years (if required to make deliveries)
Willingness to be trained on material handling equipment: forklift, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack that conform to OSHA safety training requirements
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
Ability to handle basic issues and problems
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks
Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work overtime as needed
Basic computer knowledge

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Radio Frequency scanning devices preferred
High School or GED - Preferred

Responsibilities

Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures, Environmental Health and Safety Rules, and immediately address safety concerns.
Perform daily machine checks and operate material handling equipment and powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently, meeting company standards.
Retrieve and cut wire efficiently and accurately for requested customer shipments. Examine wire for conformance to specifications and remove defective pieces.
Fill all orders efficiently and accurately. Ensure outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
Place reel of specified wire onto payout spindle of machine and thread wire through feed rolls. Adjust machine controls to regulate factors such as wire thickness, pressure, heat, and cutting and stripping length.
Stack/store merchandise in the appropriate area and stage wire cuts in the appropriate shipping area.
Maintain a minimum standard in wire cuts in compliance with current company policies in both accuracy and productivity.
Report any damage to electronic hardware, work machines, or pipe racks immediately to a supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
