About The Position
The Wiper supports the activities and responsibilities of Wellborn Cabinet, Inc.’s Finishing Department. The position helps maintain the company’s quality standards by removing excess stain or glaze from cabinet products as they move along a paint line. The Wiper holds each product in place and uses folded washcloth material to wipe along the grain, including the front, back, and/or edges. The position also assists co-workers as needed. Additional job-related duties may be assigned by the manager. This role is based in a manufacturing environment and requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols and work procedures, and the ability to work with others. The schedule may be flexible and may include some evenings and weekends. The work environment is frequently indoors, occasionally outdoors, and usually has a high noise level.
Requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others.
- Ability to stay on task and follow safety guidelines and work process procedures.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated planning, prioritizing, and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them on time.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to perform the described physical duties, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Fold and handle washcloth material to wipe excess stain along the grain of the product.
- Hold products in place while removing excess stain or glaze on a moving paint line.
- Wipe the front, back, and/or edges of products using proper technique and quality standards.
- Assist co-workers as needed.
- Follow safety guidelines and work process procedures.
