About The Position

The Seasonal Cellar Staff position participates in all aspects of wine and cider production. Duties include but are not limited to: Daily wine movements (racking, barreling, cleaning etc.), washing and filling kegs for weekly wine orders, daily wine maintenance (topping, chemical additions, protecting finished wine), as well as, general cellar work for cider production (carbonating tanks, chemically cleaning tanks and kegs, pump overs and rackings of ciders). During the harvest season (approximately August through November), all cellar work dramatically increases as the wines are fermented. Pump work, press operation, destemming grapes, inoculations, barreling and active participation in the fermentation process is essential. Cellar Staff are expected to operate forklifts safely and efficiently to facilitate cellar operations and fruit processing. In addition, quarterly bottlings require prepping the wine for bottle, filtration, and working on the bottling line. Each McMenamins employee will be expected to perform their job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to Management.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under a deadline.
  • Flexible schedule including daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday availability.
  • Have or be able to obtain OLCC card.

  • Previous winery experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to facilitate cellar operations and fruit processing.
  • Prep wine for bottle and filtration during quarterly bottlings.
  • Work on the bottling line.
  • Perform job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to Management.
