About The Position

This role is responsible for executing in‑person sales strategies, sales calls, and programming to drive growth for an assigned sales area. The Wine & Spirits Sales Representative identifies new opportunities for growth, manages replenishment orders with quality assurance in mind, and proactively builds and maintains strong customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in marketing, sales, management, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of sales experience preferred; prior beverage industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive, results‑driven mindset.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web‑based sales and operational portals; intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Strong desire to succeed, drive performance, and consistently meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required.
  • Must obtain and maintain eligibility for a Solicitor Permit issued by the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Responsibilities

  • Represent, solicit, and present the full Wine & Spirits portfolio to all accounts.
  • Present marketing strategies designed to support growth of the Wine & Spirits portfolio.
  • Execute sales plans and programs, communicate pricing and promotions, and coordinate product merchandising in accordance with supplier and distributor standards.
  • Utilize all available resources and technologies to promote sales growth.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all brands within the Wine & Spirits portfolio through ongoing training on new and existing products.
  • Cultivate, maintain, and build strong relationships with key decision makers in all accounts.
  • Manage daily account activity, including call‑ins, backorders, online portal submissions, and accurate inventory levels to minimize out‑of‑stocks and quality issues.
  • Maintain compliance with quality control and product code date standards as required by supplier contracts, utilizing available tools such as pickup & move procedures and inventory rotation.
  • Follow a consistent sales route and visit schedule.
  • Maintain open communication with Route Sales Representatives and internal partners.
  • Prepare and submit reports on key sales metrics and surveys accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all assigned company property in good standing.
  • Maintain all ABC‑required documentation, including transit permits, solicitor permits, invoices, sampling logs, and sample stickers.
  • Accurately maintain account data, including account maintenance information (open/close status, draft/package, patron demographics, opening and delivery windows, delivery information, displayability, etc.).
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
