The Wine & Spirits Clerk provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, educates customers about products, and maintains merchandise quality standards. This role involves rotating, facing, and replenishing merchandise, checking in product, putting product away, and maintaining displays. The clerk must also adhere to all company policies and local, state, and company regulations regarding the sale of tobacco and liquor, maintain a clean work area, and practice proper sanitation procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to deal with a few concrete variables.
  • Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copying figures, counting and recording.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
  • Ability to write identifying information.
  • Ability to request supplies orally or in writing.
  • Over six months up to one year of similar or related work experience.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), and field of vision.
  • Must be able to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
  • Educates customers about products.
  • Rotates, faces, and replenishes merchandise.
  • Ensures highest quality standards are met.
  • Checks in product and puts product away.
  • Maintains displays in the department and throughout the store.
  • Understands and follows local, state, and company policies on sales of tobacco and liquor.
  • Removes trash in a timely manner.
  • Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures.
  • Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
  • Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
  • Orders product at supervisor’s request.
  • Assists with inventory as requested.
  • Builds displays as needed.
  • Assists in other areas of store as needed.
  • Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
