About The Position

This role involves upgrading the client's Active Directory domain from Windows Server 2019 to Windows Server 2025. The administrator will utilize VMWare resources to establish new Domain Controllers, conduct comprehensive testing in a development environment before production deployment, and manage the forest upgrade, FSMO role transfer, Kerberos, CA certificate, and Windows DNS. Strong Active Directory skills, including Group Policy creation/maintenance and OU/Domain management, are essential. The position requires effective collaboration with other ITS professionals throughout the project.

Requirements

• Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025
• Proficiency in Active Directory: Group Policy, OU/Domain management, upgrades
• Past Experience with Domain upgrades including Forest, FSMO, Kerberos, CA, DNS
• Minimum 5+ years managing Active Directory Domain for mid-to-large organizations
• Ability to write custom scripts and create Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
• Ability to work well with other ITS professionals

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Ansible and Jenkins
• Prior Domain Upgrade project experience
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in enterprise environments

Responsibilities

• Upgrade Client’s Active Directory domain from Windows Server 2019 to Windows Server 2025
• Use VMWare resources to create 5 new Domain Controllers to replace older servers
• Conduct thorough testing in Dev environment prior to Production upgrade
• Manage Forest upgrade, FSMO role transfer, Kerberos, CA certificate, and Windows DNS
• Apply strong Active Directory skills (Group Policy creation/maintenance, OU and Domain management)
• Collaborate effectively with ITS professionals during project execution
