About The Position

Raytheon has an available position for an experienced Windows System Administrator who will work in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The System Administrator must possess a secret security clearance as they will be responsible for administering systems that contain classified data. The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to Windows infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and/or Linux desktops; including working knowledge deploying workstation hardware, software, system hardening, testing, and migrating end-user data.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with configuring, deploying, managing, and supporting workstation hardware and software, including cloning and hardening techniques.
  • Experience with installing, updating, and managing security tools and dashboards.
  • Experience with patch management software and adhere to compliance standards.
  • Experience with Windows command line and related utilities.
  • Working knowledge of servers, backup systems, and storage platforms.
  • Experience building, configuring and deploying physical and virtual servers.
  • Automation experience such as Ansible and scripting.
  • Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. user and computer object administration, Group Policy).
  • Experience with network services as related to the Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Experience with IT incident/service desk request systems.
  • Experience plannin and executing tasks independently, and across teams.
  • Current Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).

Responsibilities

  • Manage hardware and software by analyzing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting technical issues in a Microsoft and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity Specialists to update and maintain security standards, including recurring hardware and software security updates.
  • Administer system backups, diagnose and remediate technical issues.
  • Collaborate, align, and execute cross-team projects and activities as directed.
  • Provide timely technical assistance to users and excellent customer care.
  • Configure new systems including hardening security settings and testing.
  • Apply best practices to manage physical and virtual servers, storage, and backups.
  • Identify, analyze and remediate technical challenges
