About The Position

The Windows Server Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining Windows Server environments, with a focus on cloud services. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud delivery models (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS), experience with Azure, and familiarity with containerization technologies like OpenShift and Kubernetes. The engineer will also be involved in API management, data factory operations, and ensuring the smooth functioning of hybrid cloud environments. A key aspect of this role is the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders, communicating complex issues clearly and effectively. The position is dedicated to leveraging Information Technology to improve the educational experience for students, parents, teachers, and principals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience in API Management, Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Strong cross-functional knowledge (network, database, webservices, AI, Infrastructure).
  • Eager to learn and stay up to date on the fast-evolving cloud environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud delivery models: PaaS, SaaS and IaaS.
  • Exposure to OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), and well versed in Kubernetes, microservices architecture and cloud architecture.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment processes and tools such as IDEs (Eclipse), Source Code management. (GIT/Stash), Jenkins, Maven, Nexus artifacts, etc.
  • 5 years or more experience of Windows Server 2008 through 2022 in a Hyper-V / System Center Virtual Machine Manager within an Enterprise Datacenter/Cloud Hybrid environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Failover Clustering, Host/OS Patching, Migrations, and Azure administration.
  • Good interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical people and customer needs to technical people.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration certification.
  • AWS SysOps Administrator certification.
  • Database skills.
  • Programming/scripting skills (powershell, python, terraforms, c#).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Windows Server 2008 through 2022 in a Hyper-V / System Center Virtual Machine Manager within an Enterprise Datacenter/Cloud Hybrid environment.
  • Administer Microsoft Failover Clustering, Host/OS Patching, Migrations, and Azure.
  • Utilize API Management and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Apply comprehensive understanding of cloud delivery models: PaaS, SaaS and IaaS.
  • Work with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Kubernetes, microservices architecture, and cloud architecture.
  • Implement and manage continuous integration/deployment processes and tools (IDEs, GIT/Stash, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus artifacts, etc.).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network, database, and webservices specialists.
  • Stay up-to-date on the fast-evolving cloud environment.
  • Explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences and customer needs to technical teams.
