Windows Server Engineer
About The Position
The Windows Server Build Automation Engineer is responsible for developing a next generation, highly automated server build environment, leveraging HashiCorp Packer and CI/CD pipelines to automate image creation and deployment. This senior role requires deep expertise in Windows Server OS components, Windows server automation, Ansible-driven configuration management, and extensive PowerShell development, along with strong proficiency in GIT, JSON-based web services, and modern DevOps tooling such as JIRA and agile delivery frameworks. The engineer will work independently and in distributed teams to gather requirements, design and test new service offerings, document solutions, and transition them to operational support.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Windows Server 2022/2025.
- Ansible (primary) experience.
- PowerShell (Windows) experience.
- HashiCorp Packer (image creation) experience.
- Familiarity with Agile, Git (Bitbucket/GitHub), Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Tecton).
- Experience with VMware, OpenShift, and public cloud (Azure).
- Experience with designing, building, and testing automated Windows OS provisioning for Internal Cloud.
- Experience with Ansible and Windows Server 2022-2025.
- Engineer experience in being able to engineer the solution, not just admin experience.
- Ability to write code and understand how templates for server provisioning are created.
- 4+ years Windows Server 2022/2025.
- RedHat Linux.
- 5+ years PowerShell development.
- 2+ years HashiCorp Packer, Chocolatey.
- NuGet.
- GIT, Artifactory.
- Microsoft Azure.
- 4+ years Ansible.
- 2+ years Terraform.
- 7+ years MS Windows Server.
Nice To Haves
- VMware vRealize.
- Linux scripting (bash/python).
- API development with tools like Swagger WebAPI.
- Automation for large-scale cloud deployments.
Responsibilities
- Developing a next generation, highly automated server build environment.

- Assisting with Windows upgrades for the remaining part of the year and into next year.
- Designing, building, and testing automated Windows OS provisioning for Internal Cloud.
- Gathering requirements, designing and testing new service offerings, documenting solutions, and transitioning them to operational support.
