About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer on a contract to hire basis to support ongoing operational workload and upcoming infrastructure initiatives. This role requires a technical engineer with strong hands-on experience across systems, infrastructure, virtualization, security, and cloud technologies. The engineer will work closely with the Infrastructure Architect and internal IT teams to maintain system stability, reliability, security, and performance across the environment.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related disciplines
Expert-level infrastructure administration experience
Strong technical expertise in: Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware and/or Hyper-V, Infrastructure Operations, Systems Engineering, Security Controls
Experience supporting cloud technologies and hybrid environments
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
Experience working within enterprise infrastructure environments

Responsibilities

Manage physical and virtual infrastructure environments
Support servers, storage platforms, networking infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and cloud services
Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, availability, and operational health
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, system, and network issues
Support both on-premises and cloud-based environments
Participate in incident response activities and operational support efforts
Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing
Support business continuity initiatives
Participate in recovery and resiliency efforts when required
Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls
Support administration of: Firewalls, IDS/IPS solutions, Patch management processes, Security hardening initiatives
Ensure infrastructure systems align with security and compliance requirements
Deploy, maintain, and support: Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware, Hyper-V
Assist with infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and optimization efforts
Partner with the Infrastructure Architect and internal IT teams
Contribute to infrastructure projects, operational improvements, and technology initiatives
Ensure the overall stability, reliability, and performance of infrastructure services
