About The Position

Peraton is looking for an experienced Windows and VMware Server Administrator to provide operational support for the customer enterprise environment. This role provides daily operational and project support for the customer Windows server and VMware environment.

Requirements

  • 5 years with BS/BA or 9 years with a HS Diploma
  • 5 years of hands-on experience with complete compute infrastructure supporting physical, virtual (VMware), and cloud (public, hybrid) compute environments
  • Experience providing operational support for virtualized and on-premise environments using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and VMware vSphere.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience using VMware vSphere, Windows OS, and VMware vRealize Suite.
  • Strong cross-functional troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills; role requires professional collaboration with customers and other service providers.
  • 5 years of hands-on PowerShell scripting experience, including automation of administrative tasks, infrastructure provisioning, and systems management in Windows and VMware environments.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or other ticketing systems.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience with storage, network technologies, connectivity, protocols, and security.
  • Experience in a federal or regulated industry environment, with familiarity with FISMA, NIST 800-53, STIGs or FedRAMP compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., vRealize Operations, SolarWinds, Splunk).
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), AWS/Azure Administrator, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Mature professional, highly motivated, self-starter with clear verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain virtualization infrastructure including provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, automation
  • Maintenance of systems, hardware, software, and related infrastructure
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for supported systems.
  • Maintain stability of environment by performing regularly scheduled maintenance (hardware/software) patching and upgrades.
  • Responsible for compliance of all assigned hardware, equipment, and configurations.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to existing technologies and new technologies relevant to meeting the strategic and tactical plans of the organization.
