About The Position

The Shade Store is hiring a Window Treatment Installer to perform in-home measurements and installations of custom window treatments, including roller and solar shades, Roman shades, drapery, and wooden blinds. The installer will learn motorization installation and programming, particularly with Lutron products, and provide customers with a high-quality experience throughout each appointment. This role partners with local Design Consultants and Headquarters Measure & Install support teams to deliver an accurate, efficient, and seamless customer experience. The position is based in Paramus, New Jersey, and pays $28.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with eligibility for monthly individual incentives.

The Shade Store offers guaranteed full-time hours, overtime availability, a company vehicle with gas and other expenses covered, and a $50 monthly cell phone reimbursement. Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Experience in carpentry, custom installation, or a transferable skilled trade.
• Significant experience using common hand and power tools, including a power drill, impact driver, and level.
• Experience with multiple types of fasteners, anchors, and drill bits.
• Ability and experience measuring accurately within 1/8 inch using manual and laser measurers.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Punctuality, reliability, a strong work ethic, and the highest level of integrity.
• Strong understanding of basic to advanced technology, including computers, mobile devices, and tablets.
• Active driver’s license and ability to be insured.
• Ability to lift at least 55 pounds and climb ladders up to 26 feet in height.

Nice To Haves

• Significant customer service and in-home service experience is preferred.
• Experience with motorization installation and programming, particularly with Lutron, is useful; the posting states the ability to learn these techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-home measurements and installations of custom window treatments, including shades, drapery, and blinds.

• Partner closely with local Design Consultants to provide customers with a seamless end-to-end experience.
• Communicate and coordinate regularly with Headquarters Measure & Install support teams while working in the field and on-site.
• Use judgment and initiative to develop effective solutions to measurement and installation challenges.
