About The Position

Window Treatment Installer Ready to step away from the desk and work with your hands? Behind the Design is partnering with a thriving local business in Powhatan, VA to find a motivated, energetic Installer to join their close-knit, upbeat team. In this role, you’ll spend your days out in the field transforming homes with beautiful custom blinds, shades, draperies, shutters, and motorized window treatments. If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and seeing the results of your craftsmanship every day, this could be a great fit. No window treatment experience? That’s okay. We’ll provide the training and tools, you bring the work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Basic carpentry knowledge and skills
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to lift 60+ pounds, climb ladders, and remain on your feet throughout the day
  • Reliable, personable, and comfortable interacting with customers

Nice To Haves

  • Installation experience, especially with window treatments
  • Experience working with schematics through precision carpentry, millwork, closet installation, or similar work
  • Experience working in customer homes and managing appointments independently
  • Interest in growing into a lead installer or management role over time

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer homes within a 30–60 mile radius of the Powhatan warehouse
  • Install a variety of window treatments including blinds, shades, shutters, draperies, motorized products, and outdoor treatments
  • Review work orders, measure windows, and ensure each installation is completed accurately and cleanly
  • Adapt to different environments and problem-solve based on the space and customer needs
  • Troubleshoot product or installation issues on-site with confidence
  • Handle repair appointments when needed
  • Provide friendly, professional service to every customer
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials and maintaining organization in the Powhatan warehouse
