About The Position

Window World is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Measure Technician to complete post-sale, in-home measurements for windows and doors. This role is crucial for installation success, serving as the final verification step before products are ordered and installed. The position is non-sales and non-installation, focusing entirely on accuracy, documentation, and job readiness. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented professionals with hands-on window and door experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience measuring windows and doors
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Comfortable using laser measures, tape measures, tablets, and mobile apps
  • Ability to identify framing, access, and installation constraints
  • Professional, respectful customer-facing communication
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in varied home conditions
  • Reliable transportation
  • Standard hand tools (tape, laser, drill, pry bar, etc.)
  • Willingness to expose framing when necessary
  • Ability to follow company measurement standards and processes
  • Liability insurance mandatory

  • Window installation experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Measure 6–8 homes per day (average)
  • Perform precise, in-home measurements for windows, doors, and related products
  • Verify actual opening sizes—no estimates or assumptions
  • Confirm handing, panel configuration, jamb depth, sash ratios, and install limitations
  • Identify additional labor, materials, trim, or access needs before install
  • Complete and submit all measurement packets by the next business morning
  • Upload required photos and documentation to Company Cam / CRM
  • Record appointments using company-approved measurement tools only
  • Ensure all data is complete, clear, and ready for manufacturing review
  • Verify product details such as color, grids, tempered or obscure glass, trim needs, and operation for windows and sliding patio doors
  • Verify product details such as handing, jamb depth, hardware color, interior/exterior color, and labor considerations for entry, French & inswing doors
  • Verify product details such as color and hinge side for storm doors
  • Flag installation challenges before installation begins
  • Document existing damage or site conditions
  • Create material and labor notes to prevent delays or re-orders
