About The Position

The Window & Door Install Technician is responsible for traveling to jobsites to install windows and doors according to Pella Corporation guidelines and quality standards. This role involves removing existing units, preparing openings, installing new products and hardware, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The technician will also be responsible for site cleanup, representing the company professionally, and adhering to all safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read work order forms and specifications.
  • Proficiency in measuring, marking, and cutting materials.
  • Skill in securing windows and doors according to guidelines.
  • Experience in installing hardware.
  • Ability to patch drywall.
  • Experience in measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing metal framing and decorative trim.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Commitment to high quality of work.
  • Ability to prevent damage to product.
  • Adherence to safety requirements, including keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions, and wearing required safety apparel.
  • Ability to report safety issues to the manager.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to jobsites in branch territory.
  • Read work order form and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material, tool, and work aid requirements.
  • Remove existing windows and doors.
  • Measure, mark, and cut existing opening to appropriate dimensions for new products.
  • Secure windows and doors to walls/openings, according to installation guidelines and quality standards.
  • Install window and doors hardware.
  • Patch drywall as required.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install metal framing and decorative trim for windows and doorways.
  • Clean job site after installation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and serve as a reputable Pella representative on all jobsites.
  • Ask customer to complete Certificate of Completion.
  • Provide second measures and/or field inspections as required.
  • Prevent damage to product during installation.
  • Ensure that all product/material removed from the warehouse has been scanned by warehouse personnel.
  • Ensure that warehouse personnel and/or material coordinator is alerted to any product/material returns.
  • Use, maintain, and store company provided tools appropriately.
  • Meet company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions and wearing required safety apparel, and reporting any safety issues to the manager.
